  •  Failure to pay the minimum pledge will prohibit participation in any future All America Chapter event until minimum is met.

  • Riders 17 and younger must have the Wavier Form notarized at or before Rider Check-in.
  • Riders 17 and younger must review with their guardian the online safety & training information and safety brochure.  Riding age minimum is 16.

During Bike MS

  • All riders must obey all state and local traffic laws.
  • All riders must obey all Law Enforcement Personnel, Ride Officials and Volunteers.
  • Every rider must wear a bicycle helmet that complies with the US Consumer Products Safety Commission Safety Standard.
  • A parent or adult guardian must accompany riders 17 and younger at all times. The maximum ratio of adult-to-child riders is 1:3.
  • Headphones, cell phones, ear buds, radios and similar audio devices used in, on or around the rider’s head or ears are not permitted while riding.
  • Failure to comply will result in losing the device until the ride is over.
  • Equipment and accessories attached to a bicycle for transporting children and pets are not allowed. This includes, but is not limited to, bicycle trailers, Tag-along or Trail-a-bike products, and child carrier seats.
  • Riders are not allowed to transport animals while riding.

Consequences of violating Bike MS rules

To help enforce and ensure the integrity and safety of our participants, volunteers and staff during Bike MS, the National MS Society has established specific action for unsafe rider behaviors during the event.

Unsafe riding includes but is not limited to:

  • Violating state or local traffic laws.
  • Violating established Bike MS rules.
  • Violating proper cycling etiquette.
  • Failing to follow directions of police, Bike MS Officials or Volunteers.

Riders without helmets:

All participants must wear a helmet at all times while on the road during Bike MS. If a Bike MS Official sees a cyclist riding without a helmet, the rider will be asked to safely exit the course and reminded that he or she must wear a helmet. Any participant that does not comply will be in violation of their signed rider agreement and will be required to surrender his or her rider number and will no longer be considered a Bike MS participant.

Unsupervised under-age riders

Bike MS participants under the age of 18 must be accompanied by a parent or guardian at all times during the ride, as explained in the notarized rider waivers signed at Rider Check-in.

If a Bike MS Official encounters an under-age participant without proper supervision, that rider will be taken via SAG to the next rest stop. The emergency contact on the under-age rider’s bib will be called so the parent or guardian can pick up the under-age participant at the appropriate location and continue riding together.

Other violations
Riders exhibiting unsafe behavior will be warned by Bike MS Officials. Riders that do not comply with these safety requests by law personnel, MS Society Staff, Bike MS Officials and volunteers may be required to surrender their rider numbers.
